NY TIMES: NEWSCLIP

A report in the Times reveals the harsh and somewhat peculiar tactics used by personell at camp X-Ray to extract information from "enemy combatants."

In one method, prisoners are clamped to their chairs, and speakers blaring heavy metal music are placed near their ears with the air conditioner blasting. My mother always told me that music was torture. Of course, there's nothing funny about this.

What really made me mad in that report was their 'love shack' where better behaving prisoners could read magazines and eat BigMacs from the on-base McDonalds. AN ON BASE MCDONALDS?! What the hell?! There's torture going on at the illegal detention centre of a controversial American base, but McDs has no prob with that.

Sigh.

How goes your network btw? Starting an Isb chapter anytime soon?
i am. in fact most of the people who signed up were (islamabaders?) and im not sure why that is but im thinking we should have the first meeting there.

obviously, i have to make a decision soon, but let me know if there's others over there interested.
Me me! I'm interested, and I can drag along at least two other people InshaAllah.
Ok...sorry for being awol. i lost my connection for 2 days.
