Limits of the Intellect
Wednesday, August 31, 2005
The human intellect has its limits, though many of us continue not to think so. No matter far we advance in terms of technology or healthcare, our lives are and will continue to be in the hands of our Creator. With Him is the knowledge of all things: Life and death, creation and destruction.
I've never liked the term "natural disaster," mainly because it seems to credit a thing for its own existence: Nature. "Nature can be so cruel," we say. But God alone is responsible for all things in this world, the good and the bad.
Surely we should have realized this, especially after the Tsunami that struck so suddenly, devastating millions. And then we blamed it on the lack of advanced tsunami warnings. Could it not have been a warning for the rest of us? Could it not have been a warning to stop wronging one another and creating mischief?
A prayer:
O Lord, You alone are the Creator of all things and it is to You we are destined. Grant us the the ability to understand your acts and to draw lessons from them. Place in us the will to be kind to one another and to be strong in the struggle for your cause.

Amen to that!
Well said - we humans are quick to blame someone or something for a disater, little then do we remember it is the God Almight who has complete control over all events.
Amen to that
Amen to that

It would be great to talk with you about your experience as a blogger--please let me know if you would be up for a discussion over email. Thanks very much, and I hope to hear from you soon.
